As the holiday season fast approaches, we Lions all take time to give thanks for all we have and pause to share with others who don’t have as much as we do. Thanksgiving is next week and Olney HELP needs donations of food and volunteers to pick up donations and to help deliver food to persons in need. Ours is such an affluent area it is hard to comprehend the needs existing right next door for help. Please give of your time to help out and remember to bring canned and non-perishable foods to our next meeting so we can help re-stock the food shelves of HELP.
Speaking of help, beginning the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the SSLC will be selling Christmas trees and wreathes. The trees will be delivered on November 25 and help is needed to unload the truck and set the trees up. Many hands are also needed to make and decorate the wreathes and candle rings. The crew experienced in wreath making can easily show newcomers how to make these beautiful decorations. Sign up to help with either or both to help the club earn more money to support our various charities.
Join the group going to see THE KING & I on December 13 at the Olney Theater. There are still a few tickets available for $44 a person.
Dust off your holiday finery and bring your spouse and/or significant other and bring him or her to our annual Holiday party on December 16 — be sure to bring a gift for the exchange (fun or useful or delicious).
Blessings to all Sandy Spring Lions and their families for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
