Sandy Spring Lions have been serving our community for 75 years and are once again embarking on a new & improved Christmas Tree & Wreath Sales fundraiser project selling Fraser Firs & handmade Fraser Fir wreaths beginning FRI. NOV. 26th at the old Montgomery General Hospital grounds, located @ Rt. 108 & Prince Phillip Drive. Our tree lot will be open 4-7PM on THU/FRI’s & 10A to 7P on SAT/SUN’s and will continue until all trees/wreaths are sold. While there remains a multi-state wide tree shortage making supplies once again limited, we were able to secure 340 trees of preferred sizes. While selling inventory, we collect recycled eyeglasses in support of the Lions Recycle For Sight Program & have donation buckets available to support our Foundation. Please spread the word to all in the area to visit us & buy a great Fraser Fir Tree/Wreath before we sell out!
For a relatively small but active club, we had 2 LEOs, 3-Club friends, & 14 Lions volunteer thus far in the 2 set-up phases totaling over 130 man-hours of volunteerism. We wish to recognize & thank the Burtonsville Club for their donated assets provided in 2020, which have greatly enhanced the ease/speed of this major annual fundraiser. Our Lions, LEOs, friends, & wonderful Elves all volunteer their precious hours best exhibiting the Lions motto: WE SERVE!!
Our wreath construction elves work out of PDG Meredith Pattie’s garage with our own trimmings & donated tree boughs. Lions Bill Thomas and Meredith Pattie team up with Lions Julie Thomas, Liz Brigham, others, and this year as many as five LEO’s to create/decorate a targeted 75 wreaths this year. Come and buy them!
