Welcome to 2018!  Tonight’s program was put on by John Chu, Branch Chief from the Office of Corporate Communications at the U.S. Mint.

John gave us a brief history of the U.S. Mint, from it’s beginning in 1792 until the present day.  There are 6 Mint facilities today, including Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, West Point, Fort Knox, and HQ in nearby Washington, DC.

He shared a couple videos with us including the Mint minute Video.

John told us about our Lions Club Commemorative Coin which came out in 2017 and the proceeds of which go to Lions Club International Foundation.  Commemorative Coins come out at most annually and are authorized by Congress and the President.
